Frequently Asked Questions
1. Where are you located?
We’re located in the heart of Central California. We have two convenient locations to best serve you: Our original location in Fresno, Calif., is located alongside Highway 168 near Cedar and Dakota avenues. Our newest location is in Madera, Calif., near Highway 41 and Valley Children’s Hospital.
2. Do I need reservations?
Yes, reservations are required. A reservation made in advance will secure your spot in daycare or for boarding, which is important during our busy weekends and holidays. You can call us at (559) 432-5959 or use our online reservation form to request a reservation.
3. Does my pet need to have certain vaccinations prior to boarding?
We require all pets in our care to be fully vaccinated in accordance with state regulations. For dogs, please provide proof of current Rabies, DHLP, Bordetella and Canine Influenza H3N2 and H3N8 vaccines. For cats, we require Rabies, FVR-CP/FeLV to be current (feline leukemia is optional but not required).
Vaccination schedules vary depending on your veterinarian’s policies and procedures, please consult with them to ensure that your pet is current on each vaccine before their stay. Your veterinarian can either give you copies of your pet’s records to bring at check-in or they can be faxed directly to us.
I don’t think I could ever leave my dog anywhere other than Elaine’s. Everyone who works there loves dogs! Dogs get to socialize, have “yappy hour,” swim, and get one to one time. I trust Elaine’s very much. Our dog is eager to return every time. This review is for both of Elaine’s locations!
4. Is day care available?
Yes! Daycare is a safe and convenient way for you to encourage socialization and fitness, reduce stress and anxiety and keep your dog engaged and stimulated. Our daycare guests are treated with the same high quality care as our lodging guests. Please call us at (559) 432-5959 to get more information and sign your pet up for a great day of play!
5. What if my pet is on medication?
We are more than happy to dispense oral and topical medications in your absence. Please bring the medications in their original packaging and we will administer them as directed. At this time we are not able to give any injections or intravenous medications.
6. What if my pet becomes ill or requires medical attention during their stay?
In the event that your pet requires medical attention, we will refer to your contact list and make every attempt to reach you or your designated emergency contact. We will transport your pet to their regular veterinarian to ensure continuity of care; if they are not available, we will take your pet to the closest veterinary emergency clinic.
7. Can I call to check on my pet?
Absolutely! We want to give you the peace of mind that your pet is safe and comfortable while you are away. Feel free to call our front desk to check on your pet while they are staying with us as often as you like.
8. What belongings should I bring for my pet?
You are welcome to bring your best friend’s small toys or nonperishable treats for their stay. We ask in your cooperation in limiting your pet’s personal belongings to up to three favorite toys. Elaine’s Pet Resorts furnishes all of our guests with their own bedding, and offers premium styles with many of our lodging packages.
Titus loves staying at Elaine’s. The last time he stayed there he made a friend named Bella. So cute!
9. Do I need to bring my pet’s food?
Elaine’s Pet Resorts understands the importance of a well-balanced diet, that is why we feed our canine guests NUTRO Natural dry food and Pedigree wet food. Our kitchen also cooks up a special blend of chicken broth and rice that can be added to meals. Parents can bring food from home in individual serving size bags. If your pet has any dietary restrictions, sensitivities or allergies, please notify us while making your reservation or at check in.
10. Do you offer grooming or bathing?
We offer full-service bathing here at Elaine’s Pet Resorts for all of our guests. However, we do not offer haircuts for our guests any longer. All pets must also but up-to-date on their vaccinations.
11. Can we tour the facility?
Of course! We encourage all first time guests to take a tour of our resort to see our state of the art facilities. The same amenities are offered at each location, so your pet will not miss out on anything. Come by any time!
